Hello! My name is Anika J. Dodds and I am the current research assistant in the Psychophysiology Lab at NASA Ames Research Center. I just recently graduated from Foothill College with an Associates degree in Bioinformatics in June 2007.
For the past two years, I have been actively involved in the emerging technology and uses of the Autogenic Feedback Training Exercise (AFTE) in the experimental environment. I intend to transfer to either Hampton University or Claflin University to complete my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Bioinformatics and go on to complete an MD/PhD in Biomedical Engineering. |

Margaret Lee, Administrative Assistant
Hello, I am Margaret Lee, administrative and lab assistant in the Psychophysiology lab. I recently graduated with a degree in Anthropology from the University California of Santa Cruz spring 2007. After studying biology and legal studies for some time, I found that anthropology was the most exciting to study. The change of humans' physiology, culture and ecology over time and environment is so complex and fascinating—and we only know a piece of the puzzle!
What I most value from my college studies and experience at NASA is learning about how a changing environment can affect human performance and quality of health, and further the ability of the human being to overcome these stresses. I hold this principal dear to my heart as I pursue environmental health nursing, and hope to spare the future generations from toxic chemicals, indoor mold and pollution! Just kidding, that might be a little far fetched for one person. But what I also learned from my experience at NASA is that almost anything is possible if you put your mind to it. |

Jacqueline Martinez, Intern
My name is Jacqueline Martinez and I am majoring in biological engineering at the University of Florida. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in biological engineering, I intend on pursuing a doctorate degree in biomedical engineering. I love the idea of using engineering principles to solve health related and medical problems. My primary area of interest is neural engineering. I am most interested in researching the single most common serious brain disorder in the world: Epilepsy.
During my internship at NASA, I hope to obtain experience and foresee what a career in biomedical engineering will be like. |

My name is Tiffanie Rainey. I am originally from Clinton, AR. I attend college at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, AR. U of O is a small, private, liberal arts institution. My major is psychology.
The opportunity for this internship occurred due to my own senior thesis, which will investigate a treatment or remediation for stress during long duration space flight. My career goals are similar to that of Dr. Cowings. I hope to become a Psychophysiologist and work in a research lab with biofeedback technology. |

My name is Sean Winther and I am presently attending De Anza College in Cupertino. I am majoring in Electrical Engineering and expect to transfer in fall of 2008. Some scholastic goals I wish to achieve include transferring to a four year college, obtaining Internships, receiving my degree, and then being accepted into a Master's program. Through this internship, I hope to gain experience in a professional working environment and the chance to see Engineering and Science at work in everyday life.
For my future career aspirations, I would like to obtain full-time employment at Lockheed Martin or NASA Ames Research Center. |
