Human Systems Integration Division Researchers Featured in Safety Publication
(Sep 15, 2011)
Two NASA researchers from the Human Systems Integration Division at Ames Research Center were featured in the September 2011 issue of Air Line Pilot Magazine, which reaches over 53,000 pilots. The article was a review of the panel discussion “Human-Centered Approach to Flight Procedures and Operations” at the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) 57th Annual Air Safety Forum in Washington D.C. in August 2011. The panelists discussed manual flying skills, the design of operational procedures, and the importance of including human factors considerations at the beginning of any procedural or equipment enhancement. Air Line Pilot Magazine is published by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world.
