Human Systems Integration Division Senior Database Administrator Featured in www.NASA.gov Article

NASA Human Systems Integration Division’s Latha Balijepalle was recently featured in an article on www.nasa.gov titled “How a NASA Senior Database Administrator Manifested her Dream Job”. The story covers her unexpected journey from a small town in southern India to NASA Ames Research Center in the heart of Silicon Valley. Along the way, her life took many surprising twists and turns, but she ultimately ended up in California, allowing her to land her “dream job” at NASA. Although she faced many challenges along the way, including being separated from her husband for 9 months and learning to adjust to life in the United States, Latha was able to pursue her dreams by persevering, taking risks and stepping outside of her comfort zone. Her message to others is to “Start thinking about it and manifesting your dream. Maybe it will come true, and maybe it won’t, but you might as well try.”

Currently, Latha is working as a Senior Database Administrator for the Division’s Airspace Operations Laboratory (AOL). She also supports AOL researchers and developers who research next-generation air traffic management solutions. According to the co lead of the AOL, Jeffrey Homola, “Latha is the lifeblood of the lab. Without her unwavering dedication to making sure our systems are safe, secure, up to date, and running smoothly, we would not be able to do what we do in the lab.”
